INSTRUCTIONS

Add 1-2 Chashaku (bamboo spoon) of Houchija to Chawan (bowl)

Add 40 ml of hot (80°) or cold water

Whisk with Chasen (bamboo whisk)

Add more water or milk of choice and enjoy!
NOTE
Our Houjicha is crafted from high-quality Yabukita and Okumidori Sencha green tea. Unlike Tencha, which is shaded before harvest, Sencha is grown in full sunlight. After the leaves are steamed and dried, they’re gently roasted at very high temperature in small batches - a process that transforms their character completely. The vibrant green turns into rich amber tones, and grassy notes give way to a deeply comforting, nutty aroma. This artisanal roasting not only lowers the caffeine content but also creates Houjicha’s signature smoothness and warmth.
